Email Client Milestone: One Million Accounts!

Wow! 1.000.000 (yes, that’s Million!) email accounts have been activated in Mailbird to date.

This adds up to about 41.666 email accounts per month. Or, 1.388 email accounts per day that were added to and activated in our Mailbird email client within the past 2 years.

This is HUGE, and we want to thank all our amazing users.

We really appreciate your awesome support and we are grateful so many of you helped us along the way.

Thanks to all of you amazing users that have participated in the Mailbird Referral Program. You really have helped us spread the word about Mailbird, and it continues to be a great way for people to find out about us. If you haven’t yet participated, now would be an awesome time to do so! Whenever you want to tell your friends and/or family about your favorite email client. You and your friends can also earn Mailbird Pro for free.

In the meantime, we want to give you a little sneak peek of the features that are planned to be launched soon to make Mailbird even better.

1. Import feature:

Importing your accounts and folders from other email clients such as Outlook, Thunderbird and Win Live Mail will soon become as easy as clicking a button!


We are currently testing it like crazy and trying to break it, before we are confident enough to release it to the public.

2. Surprise Feature 

Yes, they did it again. Our Rockstar team of developers are working on an “Undo Send” feature. Imagine, no more embarrassing emails or typos. No more regretting that missed spelling error, or missing attachment!


“Undo Send” is currently in the Alpha and will be released with, or just shortly after, the Import feature (it will also need a good and detailed testing by our Mailbird Alpha testers).

3. Improved Contacts Manager

Many of our users are waiting for it and we can confirm that Gmail Contacts sync is on the roadmap. It will most likely be the next feature to be implemented in Mailbird, after Import.

  • Will you also be adding an “export” feature? I would like to migrate to Mailbird as soon as the import feature is implemented and give it a try, but I would not do that if it would mean getting “trapped” and being unable to switch mail clients in the feature.

      Hey Fani, export will most likely come at a later time. If you should not like Mailbird though (which of course we are hoping will not happen;-)..) and you would want to move to a different client, you may just use their Import feature:-)

      • Hi – How do I do this? The Mailbird data format is not compatible with my email program. I feel trapped by Mailbird as I have no way of getting years worth of emails out of Mailbird and back into Outlook.

          Thanks for reaching out and we are sorry to see you go:-( The easiest way to get al your emails into Outlook is using their Import feature. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.:-)

These requests and up-votes do help us prioritise the upcoming feature developments and implementations. As we have a lot of requests and Apps that are on the roadmap already, it may take some time before they are implemented, if we decide to do so. We will try to improve our responsiveness in the forum to keep you and other users up-to-date on the process.

    I have made 2 posts on your support regarding mail read receipts over the space of a month and am yet to receive the courtesy of reply.

    There are several others in the same thread as displeased as I am.

    I have bought your product in good faith and have rolled it out into my businesses. I was about to purchase several more licenses – rather than doing this I am considering taking my business elsewhere. At the moment I feel as if you have wasted my time. I will not hesitate in telling others of my experience with your product if my suspicion turns out true. Very disappointing…

  • I really like mailbird, it is the best alternative to windows live mail (or better)
    But the only thing that I am missing is advanced search.
    Is that also coming in 2016?

    Never received any response from you about upgrading to a Pro version for free…
    …I was working for you and now you have 1 million users…
