Posted by Christin on settembre 19, 2018

Posted by Christin on agosto 2, 2018

Multiple Accounts: How to Best Combine Personal and Work Email

Posted by Christin on febbraio 16, 2017

Are you tired of managing multiple accounts across different email platforms?  The average person has at least two email inboxes: one for personal use and one for work. It isn’t terribly difficult to manage a pair of email addresses, but what if you have more? What if you have a personal account and multiple work accounts for different jobs? What if you have a current personal account and multiple other personal accounts from your past? Such as college email addresses or email addresses you made in your teenage years? Handling Multiple Email Accounts At some point, you will probably find that disabling your older and less-used email accounts makes the most sense. In some cases, you might not even have a choice in the matter. Your college may disable accounts of former students. Former employers will probably shut down your old accounts, too. In other words, there’s something to be said for consolidating your email as much as you can. As long as you give friends, family, colleagues, and other contacts your most current email address, consolidation shouldn’t put you at risk for missing many important emails. However, if you do have three or four current email accounts, it can be a real blow to your productivity to have to check and manage all of them on a continuous basis. This statement is especially true if your emails are scattered across multiple email platforms. You have one Hotmail address, a Gmail address or two, and an old Yahoo account that…

Have a POP3 email account?

Posted by Christin on gennaio 7, 2017

Why POP3? IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) support was launched in October 2013. Since then we received an overwhelming response for POP3 (Post Office Protocol) support too. This was much to our surprise considering many new email providers are moving away from POP3, and onto IMAP, due to the performance benefits and because it’s a better fit with the way email is accessed today on multiple devices. But….that’s not all! Read through to the bottom to see what folder manipulation is all about. What the heck is POP3? POP3 is an abbreviation for Post Office Protocol 3. It’s the third version of a widespread method of receiving email, dating back to the 1980s. Much like the physical version of a post office clerk, POP3 receives and holds email for an individual until they pick it up. And, much as the post office does not make copies of the mail it receives, when an individual downloads email from the server into their email program, their copy of the email on the server is removed. Most clients however, including Mailbird, have an option to leave the message on the server, either temporarily or permanently.   Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail.com) supports POP3, but recently introduced IMAP support. “One of the major issues with Microsoft’s Hotmail replacement, Outlook.com, is you could only access it on the web or, with email clients, through the POP3 or Microsoft’s EAS protocol.” – Lifehacker. A lot more devices and services use IMAP, and now so does Outlook.com. Even Windows 8 Mail no longer…

Posted by Christin on aprile 25, 2016

Suntech City Singapore was once again swarmed by International startups exhibiting to more than 5000 attendees with 4 Stages hosting inspiring and talented speakers from all over the world. This years Tech in Asia conference was the best one yet. We wanted to share some of the highlights from our experiences at this TechInAsia sponsored event. We hope you will join us next year in Singapore to make it even better. Direct User Feedback The absolute BEST part for the Mailbird team about this conference was the immediate and direct feedback from existing and potential users. It’s true that we get feedback on a daily basis ( especially on our social channels ), but being there right next to a user and watching them falling in love with your app is a whole different story. The on-site feedback was not only a great source of compliments – it also really helped us in creating effective marketing messages. Thanks to this over-the-shoulder experience with so many amazing tech influencers, we found out what exactly it is that amazes most of Mailbird’s users, what triggered most of their questions, and what they felt needed improvement or clarification. One unintended side effect of our participation at Tech in Asia was the increased motivation that our entire team received thanks to so much one-on-one interaction with our users. Witnessing over and over again how people enjoyed their experiences with Mailbird at the conference, and being there to discuss with them exactly how well it helps…
