4 Email Templates to keep in touch in 2019

Posted by Christin on January 2, 2019

The art of crafting the perfect “keep in touch email” Ah, the dreaded “keeping in touch” email. It often comes across as clunky, or worse: downright awkward. How do you reach out to someone for merely the sake of “keeping up the relationship”? It’s easy with friends and family–you just reach out with a specific memory or sentiment, and voilá! You’re back in the swing of things in no time. What if you could do the same thing with your business relationships? These working relationships often blur the lines of business and friendship. While that may not be the case with all contacts, at a very minimum, there is frequently something you remember about a specific person. This could be simply his love for golf or her cat’s name is Aspen. Whatever little nugget of information you have, keep it at the forefront of your mind as you craft your email! Hints and Tricks There are a variety of situations that may necessitate a touching base email. You may want to stay in touch with an old coworker who has left the company. An old superior or higher-up may have mentored you, and you wish to reach out every so often. Potentially, a virtual client–someone you’ve never met face-to-face–is your intended recipient. Maybe you met a person at an event, and want to reach out electronically. Whatever the case may be, it’s important to keep a few things in mind. When crafting this type of email, it’s best to follow these hints…

The Best Alternatives to Mozilla Thunderbird for Windows in 2019

Posted by Christin on December 28, 2018

Thunderbird—created by Mozilla, the organization behind Firefox—has been a popular email client with a loyal following over the years, despite threats of halting updates and further development of the application. While Mozilla no longer supports Thunderbird, it still remains a powerful app with a robust library of add-on features that allow for full customization of your email experience. While some may enjoy the added functionalities, others may find this difficult and complicated to set up. Also, Thunderbirds interface may not be as user-friendly as other email clients out there, including those that have just as many (if not more) advanced features. For these reasons, you may be considering alternatives to Mozilla Thunderbird. Whether you’re looking for an entirely new email client or switching from Thunderbird, we’ve compiled a review of five Windows options below to evaluate instead of Thunderbird. Since Thunderbird is a downloadable program for PCs and Apple OS, we won’t be including mobile apps in this review. The 5 Best Alternatives To Mozilla Thunderbird:   Mailbird Mailbird is a relatively new email client that has quickly developed a reputation for being a powerful, feature-packed application that’s beautifully designed for a quick, easy user experience. The reason Mailbird has become the top alternative to Thunderbird is the many third-party app integrations. Users can connect Mailbird…

5 Email Productivity Tips to Clear Your Inbox in 2019

Posted by Guest on December 28, 2018

Every morning it’s the same story. You open your inbox and it’s flooded with tons of unread emails, about work, promotional offers, news articles, blog posts, follow ups, personal to-do’s and more. By the time you’ve dealt with them, it’s noon already and you’ve lost your entire morning. How do you fix this problem and achieve the mythical empty inbox (also called inbox zero) ? Here are 5 ways to ensure that you’re not distracted by unnecessary emails and that your inbox is regularly empty. If you touch it, you own it Do you open promotional emails from sites like Amazon, thinking you’ll just have a peek and close them? By the time you’re done, you realize you’ve spent half an hour going through all their attractive offers and even clicking on some of them, which in turn, take you to the Amazon website, where you continue browsing more products. Happens with me all the time. The simplest way to cut through unimportant and non-urgent emails is to follow the rule “If you touch it, you own it”. If you open an email, you must do something about it – reply, delete, archive or file it. If you can’t do one of these actions, then you shouldn’t be opening that email in the first place. In fact, to make it more effective, you can even apply David Allen’s 2-minute rule to getting things done – if you can reply to an email in less than 2 minutes, do it now.…

Did you know that approximately 51% of B2B marketers use emails as their primary marketing channel? This was revealed by a recent Marketing Technology Strategy Survey Summary Report. Although new channels have emerged over the years since emails were first used, they still are the best option for businesses. However, there’s a twist to using emails, irrespective of whether you send a single or multiple emails, aspects that must be looked into if you’re to achieve the desired objective. Using emails can backfire on you. To counter this, there are some tips that you could implement to make your emails effective. Check out these 6 tips: 1. Who’s Your Audience? The only way to craft an email that will make any sense is by knowing your recipient. In this case, businesses need to identify who their target audience is and tailor the email accordingly. Without a target market in mind, chances are that your email will be irrelevant to the people who really count and therefore end up having no value. The fact is, the email isn’t really about you but rather your audience. Ensure that as you write it, you focus on them rather than your company. Make them feel as part of your brand. 2. How to fix issues with MSN, Hotmail, Outlook and Livemail

Posted by Christin on August 23, 2018

Recently users have been reporting sudden issues with their Outlook, Livemail, MSN and Hotmail account in Mailbird. These accounts simply stopped working, it can’t receive or send email anymore. Attempts to add new accounts may also fail. It turns out, this issue is caused by Microsoft’s upgrade process. They are migrating to a new Outlook.com, which may cause issues for some users. Microsoft has listed more details on these problems here.   The workaround that we suggest for now is to create an application specific password for your account following this link. After that simply remove the account and add it again in Mailbird, but this time, use the new application specific password that you have generated. If this does not work, we will have to wait for Microsoft’s to release their suggestions on fixing the error. If you have any questions about the issue itself or how to generate the application specific password, please drop us a line in the comment section or simply send us an email.
